Designed to Smile (D2S) is the national child oral health improvement programme in Wales. The programme has proved its worth during the first five years of its national implementation, and we are seeing improvements in the oral health of our young children in Wales. Therefore, it is timely to reflect on the programme, celebrate its success and consider its strategic direction for the next five years, 2017-2022.
